Get Ready to Go Wild at West Midlands Safari Park!

Join us for Pledged Plod – our annual sponsored family walk on Saturday, October 4th at Rhydd. As always, every family that completes the walk will have the amazing opportunity to visit the West Midlands Safari Park after the event – for FREE!

Pledged Plod is a 5km sponsored walk around Rhydd Covert and the local area. The route is fully marshalled with refreshment stations around the route. Get your book stamped at each checkpoint and after you complete the walk your fully stamped book is your entry ticket to the West Midlands Safari Park next door.

Walk for a great cause and then embark on a thrilling adventure, getting up close with incredible animals from across the globe. Your participation directly supports our Scout Group, helping to fund new adventures and essential equipment. Lace up your shoes, bring your smiles, and get ready for a memorable day out that helps our group and gives you a wild reward!

You’ll be given a sponsor book and vehicle pass before the event, you’ll need to keep these safe and bring these with you on the day.

IMPORTANT: All young people will need to be accompanied by an adult as there will be no leaders from Stourport (Mid Severn) present for the walk. The Safari Park entry is for 4 people so why not bring others with you on the Plod and then to enjoy a fun day at the park.

When:

Saturday 4th October 2025

Registration for the walk opens at 10:00 and closes at 12:30.

Where:

Please park at the Safari Park and follow the signs to the registration centre at Rhydd.

Cost:

It’s completely free! We just need you to ask your friends and family to sponsor you to complete the walk.

What to bring:

Please bring some water and snacks to keep you going on the walk!

Don’t forget your sponsor book and vehicle pass.

All the information you’ll need for the day can be found in the book, or if you have any questions please speak to your leader.

Please keep the sponsor money safe, and bring it the week after the walk.
